What are managed futures?  Managed futures is a distinct asset class whereby individual clients assets are managed by a Commodity Trading Advisor (or CTA).  The CTA has discretion to buy and sell futures and options contracts such as crude oil, gold, corn, live cattle, etc... on behalf of the investor's individual futures account to seek out profit potential.

Managed futures have the potential to profit any market environment. Numerous studies have shown that managed futures as an asset class have historically had a zero to negative correlation to stocks. Sophisticated  investors understand the importance of having non-correlated investments in their portfolio.
